For many years, September was associated with the beginning of the school year. From back in the late 1800's to within my lifetime, school started the day after labor day. I chose to do an old schoolhouse in the 1890's as my September calendar page.
Back then, misbehaving students weren't sent to the principal. Discipline was administered by the teacher then and there - with a stick. Ah, the good old days.
I put the "drinking girl" in this one too. I just needed a little something to put in the empty space by the window and didn't want to put another picture on the wall, as that would make it look too busy.
