I still wanted to keep the same kind of "feel" as the Mother's Day envelope, with the bratty kids and general clutter.
It started off with "Dad" sleeping, but I thought that makes him look very neglectful. I was also very tempted to have him drinking beer with a lot of empties laying around, but that would make him look bad too. I wanted to make him look slovenly, but not neglectful and bad.
But even with him being alerted to his child in imminent danger, it still makes you think, 'why does he have a gas can in the house?'
I had fun doing a lot of brand name items in this one. I also wanted to put something other than a run-of-the-mill cat in the middle ground so I made it a Persian. The fish he's sniffing at committed suicide. The tank was just too overgrown with algae. I also wanted to make an unusal looking dog. I think I succeeded.
